***We've asked our highly knowledgeable friends over at the Northern Virginia Cannabis Enthusiasts (NVCE) to assist with our concentrate reviews for Dab Week. The following is Entry #2 for the best all around Dab in the DMV area.
Initial Thoughts
I walked into this session with an open mind, a clean rig, and a full torch ready to take Dab Week by the horns...or should I say fins? It's a bit like shark week I feel. Anyhow, today our
sample comes from Elevated Lounge, a local i-71 compliant provider in NW DC. The fact that we are sampling a budder vs a butter is already a positive point in my book, but with a name like Tropicanna Banana consider my curiosity piqued!
Appearance
We eat with our eyes right? Well, dabbing should be no different. When inspecting the
packaging of this particular concentrate you can tell you’re in for a real tasty treat. The clear
container bottom allows you to instantly take in the glorious golden aura of this incredible
concoction and, as you’re impatiently waiting for the first taste, your mouth launches into intense salivation.
Status
Opening the jar of the Lounge Budder releases the unbelievable combination of exotic
terps carefully concealed within. Elevated Lounge certainly took some great care to prepare this product and the consistency is that of actual ghee. As a chef it’s almost tempting to just slather some on a piece of warm toast, but no we’re sampling this the real way - we’re taking hits like Young Buck!
Aroma
Incredibly terpy, the pungent aroma of the Lounge Budder leaves the cilia in your nostrils
clinging to the scent for good reason. Citrus, gas, sharpie, earth, am I missing anything? Every waft provides a new color of flavor to enjoy.
Flavor
The shades definitely match the curtains. All the flavors associated with the aromas
described above hit my palette when ripping a questionably large dab that may or may not leave me incapacitated for the next few foreseeable hours.
Lineage
Tropicanna Banana is a sativa-leaning cross of Tropicanna (GSC x Tangie) and Banana Kush originally bred by Barney's Farm. It was recently reviewed by Toker's Guide and the same batch in that review is the same one used to make this Lounge Budder.
Effects
The effects are instant. I, for one, took what I consider a massive dab while watching my
buddy rip one the size a normal human being would take. I sat in peace enjoying the head rush while waiting for my lungs to implode, but was shocked when they didn’t. I repeat, they did not. This product did not cause any sort of dab pain; It was incredibly smooth considering the giant glob that melted into the banger which also notably left no nasty residue. Then, as soon as you’re done not coughing and realizing how bad it didn’t hurt, you can focus on the fact that you were stuck for damn near 30 minutes wondering what to do next.
As the experience went on, I realized that the name (Lounge Budder) seemed to match the effects in a unique way. It's a good choice for relaxation and calming, zen type needs, but without any heavy sedative effects. The head rush is for real, but leads to vibrant thoughts and an energetic mindset while your body is still melding with the couch in a cozy way. It's certainly not your standard sativa leaning effects, but some combination where your head is sativa charged and your body is emphatically mellow.
Conclusion
This may not be for the faint of heart, or novice smokers in large amounts - always start
small to test your tolerance. However, those with a more seasoned dabber's resume will bask in the sheer intensity and glow of this budder's awesome effects (which is to say nothing of its mouthwatering flavor). Invariably, this is one ye connoisseurs will have to try for yourselves to fully believe. Head to Elevated Lounge today to add this Tropicanna Banana budder to your own collection and don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
