Initial Thoughts
Despite the oxymoron these Runtz from DC i-71 storefront dispensary, Flight Pass, are actually quite "super" and worthy of the name. They're also so dark purple in color that they're almost black - which makes the splendid trichome coverage stand out nicely. Most impressive at first glance, however, is the awesomely delicious skunky, fruity, and tart aroma that's like a great batch of Runtz on steroids. 💪
Appearance
Dark purple buds with lots of white trichomes and orange hairs.
Structure
Elongated, dense buds.
Status
Cured well and it rolls up nicely.
Aroma
A complex fruity, skunky, and tart scent with hints of cream.
Flavor
Just like the aroma, but with added skunky gassy-ness and sour fruit.
Lineage
Bred by Don Merfos, Super Runtz is a balanced hybrid and cross of 41 Cherries and Lemon Cherry Gelato that runs 50/50 on the indica/sativa spectrum.
Effects
After rolling a joint of this Super Runtz I can say that the initial onset is heady, but kind of indica-like in terms of the mental spacey-ness. It wasn't until a few minutes in that I came to and felt that I did have some energy in my veins after all. I suppose the issue was the disorienting nature of the high and its ability to confuse my body. Or maybe it was just my desire to bask in the feel good aspects I was experiencing and not move a muscle. Make sure you have lots of water or a frosty cold beverage on hand!
Conclusion
This is a potent batch of Super Runtz that makes for a great all around and versatile option given its balanced effects. It's also extremely delicious and differs in being slightly more gassy/skunky versus my notes on our last Super Runtz review. So head to Flight Pass DC today and fill your stash box with this or one of their other fresh flower varietals. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
