Initial Thoughts
Silver Kush is a varitable who's who of legendary cannabis strains with Haze, Northern Lights, Skunk, Chemdawg, and Hindu Kush all in the lineage. From the aroma alone, I could sense the Haze and NL, with a far out anise-like nose to it. Cultivated by Center City here in DC and available at top medical marijuana dispensary, Takoma Wellness Center, I was ready to roll this one up the second I took it out of the pack.
Appearance
These darker green and spear-shaped buds are coated with starry and white trichomes and have reddish-brown pistils.
Status
Fresh, but beginning to cure.
Aroma
Anise-like with hints of pine, lemon, and fuel.
Flavor
The hazy anise flavor comes out big on this one and there are also notes of pine and lemon in the aftertaste.
Lineage
The Silver Kush strain is a cross of Silver Bubble (Haze X Northern Lights X Skunk) and OG #18 that runs sativa dominant at 70/30 on the sativa/indica ratio.
Effects
This phenomenal sativa-oriented, hazy, high is a throw back to my younger years of toking where I was frequently burning on Haze and Northern Lights, sometimes as a mixture in the same bowl. There's a heady rush at onset, with lots of energy and euphoric tingles from core to extremities. Great as a focus-driving motivator across the daytime, it can also quell almost any stomach or joint issues I might be experiencing.
Conclusion
Running at 27.3% THC and impeccably grown to elicit the finest, most on-point of aromas, this Silver Kush is one that I'm psyched to puff before work, workouts, and sporting events. It makes me feel awesomely energetic, clear-headed, and sociable without any edginess.
