The first thing I noticed about this batch of Purple Runtz from DC recreational (i-71) delivery service, Flower Ave, was the strikingly loud aroma that hit me as soon as I walked into the room. It was a sweet gassiness with a hint of fruit and was so intense it seemed like a fresh batch of chronic had just been chopped down in the next room. Except, this was just one fat bud of a quarter sitting in a mylar bag on the coffee table. My nose could tell exactly where it was and in what seemed like milliseconds I was about to break some up and roll a "J" when my colleague, thankfully, exclaimed, "Wait! You have to take photos first, there's only one bud!"👋
Disappointed, but trying hard to demonstrate patience, I put down the grinder and walked over to my camera instead. In the brightness of the photo box the purple coloration was even more evident and the trichomes were still starry. Also, as a testament to the freshness, when I did get to break it up it was extremely sticky, even when just trying to get it into the grinder. Gotta love that fresh "sticky-icky"!
In flavor there were notes of sour fruit, shortbread, and skunk in varying levels at different parts of the exhale and aftertaste. Though it was rather tenacious to break up, it still burned well and hit smooth. The buzz is one that came immediately to my shoulders and back while seeming to relax my every nerve. It's very chill and relaxing in nature, but I never felt exhaustion and my eyes always seemed bright and clear despite the immense euphoria and stoney body buzz.
