Overall Rating: 7.5/10 |
Lean: 50/50 Balanced Hybrid |
Initial Thoughts:
With deep rich purple coloration, aside from the fiery orange hairs, this Marmalade from DC recreational (i-71) storefront, No Kids Allowed, reminds me of some excellent batches of Tropicanna Cookies that I've come across in the past. The nose is amazingly citrus and the trichomes were shimmering back at me as soon and I peaked in the bag.
Appearance:
Purple buds covered with starry trichomes and bright orange hairs. There are flecks of green here and there, but perhaps the most striking part is the contrast between the deeply purple flower and the light tan stems.
Structure:
Fluffy and light, these pinecone-like buds are crisp and break up easily.
Status:
Fresh, but beginning to cure.
Aroma:
Super citrus with hints of sugar. Creamier than a Tangie or Tropicanna, this one is a lot like a creamsicle.
Flavor:
Similar to the aroma, it's citrus and sweet with tart notes and cream. Very terpy in the aftertaste.
Lineage:
Purple Marmalade, in this instance, is a balanced to slightly sativa hybrid cross of Tropicanna Cookies and Why U Gelly strains.
Effects:
Vibrant and energetic but with a glowing body buzz this batch feels like Tropicanna Cookies with slightly more indica influence - thus giving rise to the euphoria and calming aspects. Rolling this in joints and lighting them up across my day made me feel light on my feet, clear-headed, and super relaxed.
Conclusion:
At times it was as if I had the aroma of orange creamsicles being pumped into my area every few minutes (the intensity of the smell is for real), but I'm a huge fan of the smell and citrusy cannabis flower anyways, so there were no issues. Overall, this is a really nice daytime toke with phenomenal flavor and the ability to induce chill vibes almost instantly.
