Market: DC i-71 Storefront |
Overall Rating: 8/10 |
Lean: Sativa Dominant |
Initial Thoughts
With a robust, gassy, skunky, and sour nose, this Helium from DC i-71 cannabis dispensary, The Garden, reminded me of some old school Sour Diesel. I'm going to assume that it will perform in a similar fashion - a cerebral, energetic, and motivating high - as other sativa leaners with Sour D in their lineage. Given the name, though, wouldn't it be funny if it made your voice high pitch and silly when you smoke too much? 😂
Appearance
Bright green with darker green sugar leaf remnants, orange hairs, and purple hues, these buds are spear-shaped and have heavy trichome coverage.
Status
The outside is cured, but the inside is still starry and provides a bold sour scent indicating some freshness remains.
Aroma
Sour, skunky, gassy, and with hints of coffee grounds.
Flavor
A mix of gassy, skunky, sour, and pine it's more on the savory side of the palate, but makes the mouth water nonetheless.
Lineage
The Helium strain is a cross of Sour Cookies and Cheetah Piss that runs sativa dominant.
Effects
Expect an overall boost in energy and a rush to your head at first. Great for daytime use, but could use more focus factor to be truly productive. It is uplifting in mood as well and will get your creative juices flowing. Once the high fully sets in it provides a glowing body buzz that seams to reside more in the limbs than back or shoulders.
Conclusion
This is a good option to keep on hand for days when you need an espresso-like pick-me-up to get you going. It also happens to have a sour gassy flavor that I'm really into and it rolls well, burns smooth. Head to The Garden to pick up some for your own sativa supply and don't forget to tell them you heard about it on Toker's Guide!
